JAMES STEWART AGAIN FEATURED IN SPORTS ILLUSTRATED MAGAZINE

Supercross Friday 8 April 2005

The April 11 issue of Sports Illustrated magazine features a full page article about James Stewart. Penned by Yi-Wyn Yen, this is the second story about Bubba to appear in the venerable sports magazine in recent months, proving how the mainstream media is providing more coverage of motorcycle racing.

The well written story highlights Bubba’s rise through the ranks of AMA racing including his dominating victory last weekend at the Dallas Supercross – his first in the 250 class. The story also predicts how Bubba is “destined to change the face of Supercross”.

A sidebar to the story sizes up Bubba’s primary competition including Ricky Carmichael, Chad Reed, Kevin Windham, Jeremy McGrath and Travis Pastrana. The issue is on newsstands now.

HANSEN AND GRANT PENALIZED

Supercross Friday 8 April 2005

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (April 8, 2005) — AMA Pro Racing has announced that Josh Hansen and Josh Grant have been penalized for actions at round 12 of the THQ AMA Supercross Series at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas on April 2.

In announcing the penalties, AMA Pro Racing SX/MX Series Manager Steve Whitelock stated Hansen has been fined $5000 and Grant has been fined $2000. Additionally, both riders have been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2005 racing season and further inappropriate behavior could result in a suspension of their AMA professional racing licenses.

“At Dallas, both riders engaged in actions that are detrimental to the sport of motorcycle racing,” said Whitelock in announcing the penalties. “An on-track incident spilled over to additional altercations off of the track and that is completely unacceptable.”

Both riders were made aware of their penalties Friday morning in a meeting at the Pontiac Supercross.
