Chris Carr wins Hot Shoe National in Savannah, GA (07.03.2006)
—————————————-

Chris Carr and KTM are off to a great start as Chris Carr and his team demonstrated at the Hot Shoe National event this past weekend in Savannah, GA with a commanding win in the 450 Singles class.

Friday night was the first round in the Hot Shoe National series and Chris Carr was the only KTM entered in a field of eleven Honda’s and was determined to put his Orange bike at the top of the podium.

Carr completed three sessions of time qualifying and clocked in with one of the fastest times, putting him into the first of three rows. As the riders came off the start, Carr was second and quickly moved into first, never to be contested for the rest of the night.

Carr said, “This was such a great night for the team and I. We wanted to use this as a tune-up for Daytona, and I would say that we used the opportunity perfectly and got everything dialed in. We are really looking forward to the first round of the AMA Flat Track Championships.”

Just to remind you all, that http://mxforum.com is the place to discuss MX, SX and just about anything else on two wheels. Live, unscripted and moderated by Hammertime - the guy who famously pissed of David Vuellimin so much that he changed his jersey.

KTM Festival 2005 is cancelled

General Monday 7 March 2005

After six successful celebrations, the already legendary KTM Festival (4th-7th May) must be crossed off the 2005 calendar of events. The reason is
the strong resistance of neighbours who want to prevent the seventh edition of the Festival from taking place. That’s too bad, because the KTM Festival has gone full throttle in the past and become one of the national racing highlights, especially for all the KTM fans in this region. Over 1.500
enthusiastic visitors from thirteen nations were able to see the fascination of KTM motorcycles for themselves at last year’s KTM gathering in
Mattighofen. They celebrated with the stars of the racing scene and personally twisted the throttle on the MX, Enduro and Supermoto courses. The
organisation of the Festival took place in close harmony with the local authorities by the way, with whom a very good basis had been established.

The cancellation is a hard blow for more than KTM – the thriving company is the largest employer in the Mattighofen area, with more than 1.600
employees – it is also disappointing news for regional tourism, because both Festivals in ‘03 and ’04 gave the region international recognition.

As there is no readily available alternative to Mattighofen as an event location, the KTM community must take comfort in next year: for the above-mentioned reasons, the 2006 Festival will take place in Hungary…

Pimp My Semi, Moto XXX and West Coast Customs Unite

General Tuesday 4 January 2005

Fans of MTV, custom cars and motocross will all have something to be excited about when they visit Moto XXX in the supercross and motocross pits in 2005. West Coast Customs (WCC)—the shop behind MTV’s “Pimp My Ride”—has signed on as a sponsor of the Honda-backed privateer team and will make a very visual impact. The Los Angeles-based outfit will apply their skills and artistic vision to a very large palate—the Moto XXX team transporter.

Initially, West Coast Customs will handle the semi’s exterior, wrapping it with graphics that reflect the cutting edge style that they and Moto XXX have in common. As the season progresses, modifications will continue. WCC has a new line of semi wheels being developed by Giovanna. They will be available toward the middle of the year and installed on the team hauler at that time. WCC’s signature line of audio equipment will be gracing the rig’s interior.

According the Mike Megdal, President of Marketing and Public Relations at West Coast Customs, getting involved with the motocross community was an easy decision to make. “People who race or go to the races will really enjoy what we do at West Coast Customs”, he says. “This is a great opportunity to cross promote. The motocross community will appreciate the work that we do in the shop and on “Pimp My Ride”. Similarly, our clientele and TV audience is made up of people who will love motocross once they’re exposed to it.”

The Moto XXX transporter is sure to be a big draw in the race pits this year, but WCC is upping the ante just to make sure that everyone comes by for a look. A genuine West Coast Custom car or truck will be parked alongside the semi at the Anaheim, San Diego, Phoenix, San Francisco and Las Vegas rounds of the THQ World Supercross series. Additional cities may be added to the schedule at a later time.

Any media members interested in touring the new rig at one of the upcoming races are welcome to contact Eddie Graveline by phone (559-259-0851), email (eddie@motoxxx.com) or in the pits on Fridays or Saturdays.

The success of Moto XXX would not be possible without the help of American Honda, Akrapovic, O’neal, Honda Genuine Parts, Sidi, Tag Metals, West Coast Customs, Polisport Plastic, Pro Honda Oils & Chemicals, Pro-X, Utopia Optics, N-Style, Lucky 13, Ready Filter, VP Fuels, Braking, Motion Pro, Hinson, Metaltek, Ogio, Dunlop, Fat Wreck Chords, RK Chain, Excel Wheels, Vortex, ARC, Ti Lube, Carbon Fiber Works, SDG Seats, Engine Ice, PPG, Asterisk, Lockhart Phillips, and V-Force.
